Amazon/BN Rankings and Sales

Author Christine Bell recently posted about her experiences using the sales rank of her books on Amazon and Barnes and Noble to get an idea of how well her book is selling. If you’re in a situation where you don’t have access to real-time sales figures, this could be a useful tool for the reasons the author outlines, including deciding if a book needs more promotion, estimating earnings, and getting an advance idea about what your royalty statement might bring, at least for these outlets.

Tickle Your Brain: Photo of the Day

I wish that there were an easy way to give you a preview of the photography and photos of the day on the National Geographic website, but there isn’t–so you’ll just have to click the link. There are galleries, contest winners, wallpapers, tips, and more. I love the zen feeling that comes from soaking in a pretty view, and Nat Geo can provide some awfully pretty views to tickle your fancy.
